Nine years ago today, our lives changed in an instant. In adoption, it really takes just an instant to be handed your new child . . . one minute my arms were empty, an emptiness that had torn me apart for years. Then suddenly, my daughter was in my arms and I was a mother. Joe was a father and the dream had come true. And it certainly seems like the nine years since have passed in an instant as well! Doesn't every parent wish they could push the pause button now and then? We certainly do, especially on a day like this one as we reflect back on that day in China when God chose to bless us so abundantly.
